TROPITONE INTRODUCES TWENTY-FOUR NEW FIRE TABLES AND EXPANDED OPTIONS FOR TABLETOP COOKING & ENTERTAINING
Irvine, CA – July 16, 2013 – Tropitone Furniture Company, Inc. opened the International Casual Furnishings Association Preview Market at the Chicago Merchandise Mart by announcing the expansion of its table program with the introduction of twenty-four Fire Tables and expanded options for Tabletop Cooking & Entertaining.
“The sales results of last year’s introduction of Fire Pits and Tabletop Cooking & Entertaining into our table program exceeded our own aggressive expectations,” said Tom Keddy, Director of Product Management. “We are building on that success by following the same ‘Uniquely Tropitone®’ best-in-class, total-performance approach. The new Fire Tables will include eight new Gas models, eight new Charcoal models and eight new Gel Fuel models. The new Fire Table models were designed with interactive Tabletop Cooking & Entertaining in mind.”
The Gas, Charcoal and Gel Fuel Fire Tables include four of the Tropitone® brand’s most popular table top designs: 55” Round Spectrum Cast Aluminum; 55” Round Garden Terrace Cast Aluminum; 54” Round Banchetto Aluminum; and 48” Square Banchetto Aluminum. Each table top design is available in both dining and counter heights for a total of twenty-four models. Each Gas Fire Table will be shipped with the burner system and controls pre-assembled to the table top. The table base will be shipped in the same package as components for on-site assembly.
The eight Gas Fire Table models incorporate a unique four-tank manifold for connecting liquid propane tanks. The manifold will accept any combination of four 1 Lb and 20 Lb tanks. The burner system is also easily converted to use natural gas with the kit provided with each model.
“The unique four-tank manifold is concealed within the gracefully designed table top skirt upon which the burner system controls are attached,” continued Keddy. “The versatile manifold will accommodate any combination of four 1 Lb propane tanks. The tanks are not visible below the skirt creating the clean, elegant look of a regular table. The manifold and burner system can be easily accessed through a built-in door in the skirt.”
Additionally, a 20 Lb tank can be easily connected through the manifold via a connection hose included with each model. An optional 20 Lb propane Tank Cover is also available. An optional patented round or square hard anodized aluminum Table Top Grill Pan can be placed right on top of the burner pan for interactive Table Top Cooking & Entertaining.
The Burner System for the Gas Fire Table models produces a wide range of heat output peaking at 40,000 btus for liquid propane and 60,000 btu’s for natural gas. This range of output provides the user with versatility for variations in outdoor temperature and activities. The Burner System for Gas Fire Table models utilizes a pilot flame that ignites the main burner. The pilot flame can be lighted automatically with a push of the built-in igniter switch or manually with a match or other ignition device. The pilot flame is lighted and the output of the main burner is adjusted with the simple push-to-turn valve system knob conveniently located on the base. The built-in igniter switch is located next to the valve system knob.
The eight Charcoal Fire Table models are specifically designed for interactive Table Top Cooking & Entertaining. The Grill Grate was designed to sit inside the charcoal pan at an angle facing each cook for a refined and easy-to-use grilling surface. The double layer charcoal pan can be easily removed and replaced with an optional Ice Bucket designed to fit in the Fire Table center opening. This modular approach provides valuable versatility for Table Top Cooking & Entertaining in one Fire Table.
Tropitone recommends using a rapid chimney starter to manage the charcoal heat source when using the Charcoal Fire Table.
The eight Gel Fuel Fire Tables feature a three-can Gel Fuel Holder that easily attaches to the center of the burner pan to secure the gel fuel cans. Glass or other decorative media can be used in the burner pan to enhance the visual appeal. Importantly, Gel Fuel Fire tables can be used indoors and in other confined spaces. Gel Fuel is readily available in the marketplace and burns cleanly and attractively with bright colors. The Gel Fuel Fire Tables were designed to create a simple, attractive fire feature for Table Top Entertaining. The burner pan and Gel Fuel Holder can be easily removed and replaced with an optional Ice Bucket designed by Tropitone to fit in the Fire Table center opening. This modular approach provides valuable versatility for Table Top Entertaining in one Fire Table.

Product safety is always the top priority for Tropitone. “From day one our Gas Fire Pit and Fire Table models included appropriate safety features and our schedules included the time required for proper certification by an independent agency,” said Richard Rivera, Vice President of Engineering. “All gas products include a blow out box that houses a pilot flame that heats a thermocouple and lights the main burner. In the event the pilot flame blows out for any reason, the thermocouple automatically shuts off the flow of gas to the main burner. To re-light the Gas Fire Pit or Fire Table, you simply go through the original lighting procedure. Gas will not flow again to the main burner until the pilot flame is re-lighted and the thermocouple re-heated.”

Building officials, architects, contractors, specifiers, designers and others will utilize the ICC-ES PMG (Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas) listing to provide a basis for use of Tropitone® brand Fit Pits under ANSI Z21.97-2010, Outdoor Decorative Gas Appliance, Listing Number PMG-1114. The products have also been evaluated under the applicable International Codes published by ICC. The ICC-ES PMG program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute.
